About
Hi, I am Cuong Le.
I’m an engineering leader and systems engineer. I write clear, first-principles essays about Rust, database internals, and high-performance systems.
My writing started with Rust. Over time, it has expanded toward storage engines, log databases, query systems, compression, indexing, caches, I/O paths, and reliability. I care about systems that have to work under real load, and I try to explain them in simple language with concrete examples.
A few of my Rust essays found a strong audience on Hacker News and Reddit. The common thread in my writing is always the same: understand the mechanism, make the trade-offs explicit, and avoid fluff.

I love meeting engineers, founders, and researchers who care about high-quality systems work.
